Our Story

We were a city dwelling family that was determined to homestead where we were and teach others to do the same. It is our desire to see people thriving and blessed with abundant provision and prepared for anything to come. We recently moved out of the city and expanded our homestead to 6 acres of possibilities!

We are so passionate about helping people grow their own food. We want to be in a position to bless others and help in a crisis and teach others who share this desire to do the same.

We want to offer amazing products as well as great events and activities all year long.

Mission and Aspirations

We believe that natural and fresh food is fundamental to a healthy lifestyle. Our mission is to grow our own quality, nutritious produce at home, while engaging with our local community and providing family friendly activities, classes and events to teach others how to do the same.

We also promote sustainable and socially responsible gardening and farming by using the most environmentally friendly growing techniques.

Family Centered

Urban Roost is a multi-generational urban homestead in North, SC. Though the whole family participates in the homestead activities, it is primarily Dayna and Alex who handle the day to day operations, garden maintenance and animal care.

We understand the importance of being faithful stewards and using what we have in our hands to the best of our abilities and maximizing whatever space/land we have in our hands.

We started on 1/10th of an acre in the middle of the city and made every effort to maximize the space for sustainability and growing as much food for our family as possible. We were moving towards this lifestyle for years and finally made the decision to run head on into homesteading in late 2020. Since then, we’ve been through many changes and grown in amazing ways and are so very excited to share the journey with you!
